It’s been just about forever since I’ve updated here. Which is not to say that things haven’t been happening, just that a bit too much has been happening, and writing has not been at the top of my “to do” list. 🙂
Since last updating, I did another sermon under Rev. King’s guidance (contemplating putting the sermons on here), went through an online orientation class for school – which starts July 4, of all days – and put together the online profile each of the students is supposed to have.
This past week, I met with the Commission on Ministry, which was a completely nerve-wracking event. I think because of the background I have (specifically Catholic and Baha’i), the concept of obedience is a much easier thing for me than for some others. That was an interesting discussion. But meeting in a room full of people where you’re the entire focus is just about at the threshold of my ability to not freak out. <g> Anyway, the committee writes up whether they recommend the Bishop accept my application for postulancy, or if they think I need a bit more time to consider, or if I should look in a different direction. I’m supposed to hear from the Bishop at some point later. It would be a good thing, I think, if they let me know before the church pays for school, y’know? But what do I know?
My class started out having 11 people in it, and we’re down to 9. Not everyone has created their profiles, but the ones who have are either already Deacons or Priests.
I will try to at least post interesting assignments and/or sermons and/or portions of Ember Day letters that I send to the Bishop (some portions of those are better not made public as they will deal with Parish issues).
